Course Overview
How would you like the opportunity to develop an effective business idea and transform it into reality? Join SP Jain’s Startup Bootcamp and create a business plan which you can launch. The online course will be split into three key parts:
- Discovering the Idea: Discover opportunities including understanding the different models such as subscription (Netflix, LinkedIn), sharing (Uber, Airbnb) and Moonshots (Tesla, SpaceX), among others. You will test your idea with potential customers, suppliers and investors.
- Building the Business Plan: Once the idea is finalised, we will focus on building the business plan, understanding our customers, value proposition, market feasibility, teams and more.
- Creating the Funding Pitch: In the final leg, you will create a funding pitch to pitch to the professor for feedback.
Between sessions, you will be involved in taking surveys, talking to potential suppliers and building your minimum viable product (MVP), all along with your remote team.

Dr Jireh Seow
Director, i2e - The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center and Assistant Professor
SP Jain School of Global Management
Dr Jireh Seow runs Jaguars’ Den (JagDen), a startup entrepreneurship competition, and other types of business competitions such as hackathons and markethons at SP Jain School of Global Management. Apart from being a professor, he is an entrepreneur and investor who has co-founded startups. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (recently renamed Advance HE), a British independent non-profit professional organisation committed to researching and communicating world-class teaching and learning methodologies and practices
As a global citizen who has lived in over 10 countries, he has been educated in institutions of higher learning in three continents: North America, Asia, and Europe. Furthermore, he was a recipient of numerous scholarships and awards which funded his global education; one highlight was winning a full sponsorship to be in an Antarctic expedition and to be mentored under Robert Swan, OBE (the first person to walk to both the South Pole and the North Pole).

Prof Prasad Patil
Faculty – Data Science (Statistics and Operations Research areas)
SP Jain School of Global Management
Prof Prasad Patil has 11 years of experience in consulting and teaching in USA and India. His areas of interest are financial markets and applying statistical techniques to identify and predict market behaviours. He teaches Statistics, Optimisation techniques to undergraduates and graduate students of Data Science at SP Jain. Prof Patil holds a degree in mechanical engineering and an MS in Industrial Engineering from State University of New York, USA. He is expecting his PhD from NITIE Mumbai, India, shortly.

Yes, this course doesn’t require any programming knowledge.
You will get a Certificate of Completion.
Given the nature of the course and its timeline, it will not be possible to create custom chatbots during the course. However, we will have one extra session at the end where we will be discussing your custom requirement and how to logically approach the problem.
While you will gain both strategic and execution-oriented skills, the chatbots that you can develop after taking this course will depend on the level of chatbot complexity and your ability to apply the concepts. This course gives you insights into all the relevant tools and techniques required to create professional chatbots & voice assistants. Your interest in the topic and how well you practice and apply your knowledge will determine your skill.
No, this is a short-term course aimed at upskilling and doesn’t provide any placement assistance or industry internships.
Yes, given the nature of the course, there may be visiting faculties from the industry who may cover certain specialised topics.
